Character Descriptions

VISITORS FROM NEW YORK - (Natalie Dunn, Director)
Hannah Warren (Female, 35-50) - Manhattan workaholic, intelligent and sophisticated whose goal is to retrieve her daughter Jenny, 17, after she left to stay with her dad. She is sarcastic with quick witty remarks and has to decide at the end what is truly best for Jenny.

William Warren (Male, 35-50) - Hollywood Screenwriter, divorced twice, athletic who has focused on improving his health since the divorce from Hannah. His goal is to convince Hannah to admit their daughter would be better if she stayed with him.

VISITORS FROM PHILADELPHIA - (Jack Wildwood, Director)
Marvin Michaels (30-50) - Business person who consumed a bottle of vodka and gets a suite to celebrate Marvin and Millie’s first trip to California. Unfortunately, Marvin isn’t the only one in the suite….or the bed….when Millie shows up.

Millie Michaels (30-50) - Devoted and loving partner to Marvin. Millie shows up to a hotel and is dealing with the distress of the airline having lost the luggage with Millie’s dress for the Bar Mitzvah. All Millie wants to do is take a nap in the bedroom, however it is occupied with another….

Bunny (20-30) - A mostly comatose 18+ sex worker. Must be comfortable in intimate night clothes (no nudity) as well as comfortable with being moved and have the ability to lay still. Requires less time commitment for rehearsals.

VISITORS FROM LONDON - (Kimmy Rose, Director)
Sidney Nichols (Male, 30-40) - British, witty, a closeted antique dealer who is recently becoming more indiscreet about his sexual orientation.

Diana Nichols (Female, 30-40) - British, does her best to mask her low confidences. First-time Best Actress Oscar nominee. Although she knows she doesn’t stand a chance, she’s hopeful to win the award. Perhaps it could revive her career or even her marriage.

VISITORS FROM CHICAGO - (Jeff Bickford, Director)
Mort Hollender (Male, 30-50) - “That wasn’t tennis out there, that was war” Male-presenting spouse of Beth. Self-described as having some “meat on his bones”. Both bumbling and menacing, with a short fuse.

Beth Hollender (Female, 35-50) - “This is Beverly Hills, they’ll probably send a psychiatrist.” Female-presenting spouse of Mort. The most fluent in sarcasm and swearing.

Stu Franklyn (Male, 35-50) - “Don’t yell at my wife while I’m carrying your wife.” Male-presenting spouse of Gert. Mort describes Stu and Gert as “two skinny people.” Trying and almost succeeding in taking charge.

Gert Franklyn (Female, 35-50) - “Ohhh..Stu…did I pass out?” Female-presenting spouse of Stu. Alternately competes and allies with Beth. Stylish and probably knows exactly what she’s doing.

*  Attend either day

*  Please bring your calendar with you to note schedule conflicts!

*  Please arrive between 12:30 and 1:00pm to fill out paperwork. Auditions start at 1:00pm SHARP

*  No appointment necessary

*  Wear clothes and shoes you can move in/are comfortable in

*  No need to bring prepared material; readings from the script will be used.
