| Sebastien: Paul
Sorodin's personal valet. A very mysterious character. He has a dark
complexion. This is a very challenging part, but incredibly interesting. Marie-Celeste: Paul Sorodin's maid. A small part that comes in and out throughout the play. Speaks only French. Clinton Preminger, Jr.: American reporter from Life Magazine. Very eager, to the point of pushy. A very naive person. Isobel Sorodin: Paul Sorodin's wife. They haven't seen each other for 27 years. 50 - 60. She is a challenging and comedic character. She has to show us why he liked her, left her, and who she is. Jane Sorodin: Paul Sorodin's daughter. 25 - 35, unmarried. She is trying to find herself, and shows us who Paul Sorodin was. This is her first chance to really learn about her father, and she is like a kid in a candy shop. Colin Sorodin: Paul Sorodin's son. 25 - 35, a major in the military. He's his mother's son. Hot tempered and commanding. A fun role if you like to be pompous and arrogant. Pamela Sorodin: Colin's wife. 25 -35. She offers us a glimpse of Isobel when she was young. She has a forthright manner, and is accustomed to speaking her mind, which limits the scope of her conversation. |
Jacob Friedland: An
art dealer, shrewd and cunning, rather pompous on occasion. He was the dealer for
Sorodin's work. Anya Pavlikov: 40-60, Hot blooded Russian woman. Very physical. One of those great characters, where you command all the attention on the stage. Cherry-May Waterton: 40 - 60, Very sexual person, retired prostitute? "Close friend" of Sorodin. Another fun character to play. Fabrice: Cherry-Mae's boy toy. No lines, but lots of action including a fight scene. Obadiah Lewellyn: Black man, no lines, but may do some singing. George: Photographer for Life Magazine. A few lines over a couple of pages. Great little introductory role. Stotesbury: 14 year old boy. A small, but important part. Prefer someone 5'4" or shorter. Must be able to "play" a real brat. |
