LCP will be having a 1950s Night Costume Contest
for the Thursday, July 24 performance!
Break out your
leather jackets, poodle skirts and bobby sox and come to the show in
costume!
Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes,
including the grand prize of two Season Tickets
for LCP’s 2009 Season!

Everyone else might be talking about the demand for
oil, but here in
Lamoille
County
, the demand is for
“Grease”—the musical, that is!
Don’t miss the chance to see one of
the most popular musicals of all time! “Grease” originally ran on
Broadway for over 8 years and received 7 Tony Award nominations. The movie version of the show
holds the record as the most successful motion picture musical ever! Greaser Danny (Travis Hathaway, of
South Burlington) and wholesome Sandy (Kate Whalen, of Colchester) have fallen in love during summer
vacation and it’ll take senior year for them to understand each
other. Can their love survive
high school and the hand jive?
It can, with the help of Rizzo (Danielle Carrier, of Hyde Park),
Kenickie (Christopher Brown, of Burlington), and all
the rest of the Burger Palace Boys and the Pink
Ladies!
Director Frank
Weston of Colchester returns to direct
his second straight LCP Summer show.
“When someone suggested ‘Grease’ for this year, how could I have
passed up the opportunity to stage a fantastic, high-energy show that’s
still as popular as ever!” says Weston. “How could I have passed up the
chance to work with so many great Lamoille County actors, especially teens and
young adults? I couldn’t
resist!” Weston reports that he’s been
developing some new ideas to keep “Grease” fresh, “while still giving the
cast and audience the familiarity everyone loves and expects,” he
says. “More than anything, I
want the audience and the cast to have fun!”
Producer Enid
Rosenblum of Hyde Park can attest to the
fun part! “After all these
years, “Grease” is as good as ever,” she says. “For those of us who were around
back in the 50s, the show brings back great memories; it seems like
yesterday. This is just
great. Frank and all the cast
and crew have been working hard and having fun! This show is going to be popular;
order your tickets early!”
