2012 marks the
100th anniversary

of the opening
of Lamoille County’s

jewel of a performance space!

The Centennial Celebration kicks off with “ol’ Russ” himself!!  Rusty DeWees stars in “THE LOGGER Comes Home!”  March 9 & 10 at 8:00pm.  With special guest, country singer
Keeghan Nolan.  New Comedy – NEW STORIES – Music and more for the family!  This great theater holds a very special place in Rusty’s heart:  the Opera House is where a not-so “ol’ Russ” got his start on stage!  Rated SC for “Some Cussin’”.  Tickets are $20, and are available at www.thelogger.com, or call 802-888-8838, or try your luck at the door!

Next up:  a chance to see performers who may take the Opera House into its second century of use:  local high schools bring their festival shows to the Opera House for An Evening of One Acts.   March 16 at 7:00pm.  Peoples Academy’s The Real Inspector Hound and Lamoille Union High School’s The Gift of the Magi.  Tickets available “by donation” at the door.

And look who else is coming back to the Opera House?  “Well, shut my mouth,” it’s the GROUND HOG OPRY!  March 23 and 24 at 7:30pm.  Tickets are $10 and available at the door.  An evening of
music, song and hilarity. Don't eat too much before the show, you may get a belly ache. The best fun you'll have for $10 EVER!
Next is a group that will showcase the exceptional acoustics of the Opera House:  the GREEN MOUNTAIN CHORUS!             MARCH 31 at 7:30PM.  Tickets
are $10 and available at the door.  This men’s chorus sings a capella in four-part harmony, featuring show tunes, standards, rock n roll oldies, and much more.  A fantastic night of music and fun!
THE SUMMER OF WALTER HACKS returns to the Opera House on APRIL 14 AND 15.  Plan on a 7:30pm showing on Apr. 14 and a 2:00 matinee
on Apr. 15.  This film features several veteran LCPers, and even includes some scenes shot at the Opera House itself!  Tickets will be $6 and available at the door while they last!
On MAY 26, GREGORY DOUGLASS AND IAN ETHAN perform at the Opera House, presented by River Arts.  Douglass is an LCPer, having been in a few shows in his early years.  He now is an internationally
renowned independent musician with eight critically acclaimed albums.  His recent spotlight on NPR's "Morning Edition" has coined him "one of New England's best-kept secrets."    Acoustic Double-Neck Guitarist Ian Ethan, a Hyde Park native, began a journey into truly uncharted territory when he picked up this
seldom-seen 18-string instrument.  Tickets available at the door.

The CATAMOUNT BRASS QUINTET appears on JUNE 14 at 7:00pm. Featuring Kelly Daige, Tom Lackey, Glendon Ingalls, Tom Allen, and Mark Stebbins, the evening will consist of show tunes, marches and more.  A great summer evening’s concert!  Tickets available “by donation” at the door.

TOM MURPHY, Physical Comedian, brings his unique show to the Opera House on JULY 7 at 8:00pm.  His shows are for young and old alike, and
in the same vein as Keaton, Lloyd, and Chaplin, Mr. Murphy continues to be one of the top slapstick comedians alive today.  Tickets will be available at the door:  $12 for adults / $8 for children 12 and under.

In the middle of the Opera House’s Centennial Year, LCP has a milestone as well!  The Lamoille County Players turn SIXTY in 2012 - let’s throw ourselves a party!  To celebrate 60 years of LCP, we will present “A NIGHT TO REMEMBER” Saturday August 18 at 7:00pm.  Musical numbers from past shows, skits, and stories!  Hosted by Jack von Behren.  An alumni Social Hour will follow the show!  $10 admission at the door!

***UPDATE:  Due to unforeseen scheduling issues, VERMONT VAUDEVILLE will NOT perform at the Opera House this October.  We hope to have them back at the Opera House in the near future!***

The year-long celebration wraps up on SATURDAY NOVEMBER  3 with  GEORGE WOODARD.
What will the evening consist of?  Your guess is as good as George’s!  But seriously folks, the evening with George Woodard is guaranteed to be entertaining.  Also featuring Nancy MacDowell and Carrie Cook.  Songs, stories, and more, from one of the Opera House’s greatest supporters.  Admission is $10.  Tickets available at the door while they last.  For reservations, call 800-611-6045.
